As one of Australia's up and coming singer/songwriter's Simon Astley knows how to make his mark in the music industry, through his unique melodies and memorable lyrics Simon shows his passion towards expressing feelings and touching other people through his songs.
Simon's piano driven songs with narrative lyrics may owe a debt to modern
ivory tinklers like Ben Folds, The Whitlams and Elton John, but they are
also startlingly original.
Simon grew up in Tasmania with his family after moving from Perth W.A as a young child.
By the age of 7 Simon was already showing interest in music. He began
learning the piano and saxophone and later toured with numerous bands
throughout Tasmania.
Simon moved to Melbourne in 2002 and since then he has performed acoustically and with his band 'The Hidden Agenda' around Australia.
Simon recorded an EP 'Shopping Mall' in 2004, and now he is back in the studio writing and recording new material for his next CD release.
